Unfortunately, it’s not possible to make any changes to an order or cancel it once it has been placed. However, you could ask for a refund.

You will receive an email from us after you have placed the order. You’ll get confirmation in your email when you purchase and we’ll let you know when your order is on the move. You will be able to track your order through your preferred shipping partner.

This package is designed for individuals who love the location but may not want to surf every day, preferring a more flexible and laid-back experience.

The package emphasizes fun, social activities, while allowing for downtime and relaxation.
Is the course suitable for complete beginners?
YES! Although The Ultimate relax doesn’t include surfing as part of the package, you’re welcome to buy lessons as and when you please and jump in with one of the groups that fits your ability.
How is Ultimate Relax different from other surf camps?
Unlike intensive surf courses, Ultimate Relax gives you the freedom to choose when and how much you surf, making it ideal for those seeking a balance between activity and rest.

Are there specific dates or can I join anytime?
All are camps and courses start on a Saturday. If you can not make it on a Saturday, please contact the team to talk about a custom package. To find exact dates please visit the page of the camp or course you’re interested in.
What should I bring to the camp?
It’s recommended to bring your personal essentials for surfing, beachwear, and any items that make your stay more comfortable. For a full packing list visit our blog.
Is equipment rental included?
Surf equipment is free to use for the duration of your stay.
Are meals and accommodation provided?
Accommodation is included, with an option of different rooms. Breakfast is also included. We have intentionally not included Dinner, as there are over 50 restaurants with 250m, all of which are extremely cheap, and even more delicious.
What is the Essential Surf course?
Essential Surf is a surf course offering 10 hours of expert instruction over 5 days (2 hours per day, Monday to Friday), plus 2-3 guided surf sessions for extra tips and practice. It also includes video analysis to help you see what you’re doing well, and where you can improve.
Who is the Essential Surf Camp for?
This course is designed for all levels and those seeking to improve their surfing skills with structured lessons and guided practice, whilst still having time in the day or explore and relax.
What does the Essential Surf Camp include?
It includes daily surf lessons, guided surf sessions, expert coaching, video analysis and free surfboard use in and out of lesson time.
How long is each surf lesson in the Essential Surf Camp?
Each lesson is 2 hours long, conducted over five consecutive days.

What skills will I learn in the Essential Surf Camp?
You will learn essentials such as safely handling your surfboard, paddling techniques, wave selection, standing up on the board, and basic maneuvering on waves, all the way through to advanced surf techniques.
What is the Intense Surf course?
Intense Surf is a surf camp designed for those who want maximum water time and coaching, focusing on rapid progression, performance skills, and technical mastery over an intensive schedule.
Who is the Intense Surf course for?
This course is ideal for surfers seeking intensive training, significant skill improvement, and deeper technical coaching. Its open to all levels of surfers, however we do recommend that you have a good underlying fitness (Paddling can be very tiring on the shoulders and arms).
What does the Intense Surf course include?
It includes 2 x 2h surf lesson per a day, 5 days a week. Plus 2-3 guided surf sessions per a week. It also includes concentrated coaching sessions, feedback, technique analysis, and continual support to push your surfing abilities further.
How long does the Intense Surf course last?
Its available in 1, 2 or 3 week options.
Where does the Intense Surf course take place?
All sessions take place in Arugam Bay, known for its Amazing surf, good weather and laidback vibe.

Who is the Surf Guiding course for?
It is designed for surfers who are already comfortable in the water, capable of catching their own waves, and looking to maximize their surf experience with expert local guidance.
How much surfing is included?
The package typically includes 15 hours of guided surf sessions per week, usually split as 3 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Your guide will find the best location after a surf check, and then off you go in an open top jeep, to the best surf points. Our guide will also be there to help improve your surfing.
Is coaching provided during surf guiding?
Unlike traditional lessons, Surf Guiding focuses on showing you the best locations and conditions; tips and safety advice are given, but there is less formal instruction compared to lessons.
What skill level is required to join the Surf Guiding course?
You should be at least an intermediate surfer—able to paddle out, catch green waves, and feel confident managing yourself in the surf without constant instruction.

What’s the weather like in Arugam Bay?
Arugam Bay enjoys a tropical climate with average air temperature between 27 – 32C, water temperature around 29C. April to October is the dry season with consistent surf, November to April is the wet season and less ideal for surfing.
What’s the weather like during different seasons?
Summer (April-August): Hot and humid with temperatures reaching 32-36°C (90-97°F). June onwards sees temperatures stabilizing around 29°C (84°F) with steady southeast winds.
Autumn (September-October): Mostly dry with temperatures around 30-32°C (86-90°F). Very high humidity levels and occasional light rainfall.
Winter (November-March): This is the rainy season with occasional showers, windy conditions, and temperatures around 28-30°C (82-86°F). It’s the low season for tourism.

Yes, indemnity forms must be signed by all participants before entering the water. These forms confirm that you understand the risks and are physically capable of participating.
What safety measures do you have in place?
We follow strict safety protocols including- all equipment checked daily for seaworthiness- medical condition and swimming ability evaluation- weather and wave condition monitoring- emergency action plans and procedures- first aid kits available at all times- experienced, certified instructors in the water at all times.
What’s the minimum experience required for instructor courses?
Course requirements vary:
10 weeks requires no prior experience
8 weeks some surf experience is recommended
6 weeks you must already be fairly confident on your board.Which course length should I choose?
10 weeks: Perfect if you’re new to surfing and want plenty of time to build strong skills and learn coaching techniques.
8 weeks: Great for those with some surf experience who want to sharpen skills and teaching ability

What certifications will I receive?
Our instructor courses provide ISA Level 1 Surf Instructor certification, water safety certifications, and full qualification to teach surfing anywhere in the world.
Do you provide airport transfers?
Transport to and from Arugam Bay is not included but we can arrange transfers for an additional fee. Please contact us for transfer pricing and arrangements.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, you must arrange your own travel insurance before arrival. This is not included in any of our packages and is mandatory for participation.
How do I get to Arugam Bay?
The nearest airport to Arugam Bay is Amparai (Galoya) Airport, about 60km away. Most international travelers fly into Colombo and then travel overland to Arugam Bay (about 6-7 hours by car or bus).
How much free time do I have?
All programs include plenty of free time to explore Arugam Bay, relax by the pool, join beach activities, or simply chill with new friends. The balance varies by program- Surf Essential and Surf & Yoga have a good balance of structured time and freedom- Surf Intense is more focused on surfing but still includes downtime.
Can I book additional excursions?
Yes! Additional excursions like Kumana National Park Safari and weekend trips to Ella are available and can be booked in advance or on-site for an extra fee.
What activities are included besides surfing?
All programs include- one yoga session per week (5 sessions per week for Surf & Yoga)- one included excursion per week (TukTuk Safari, Lagoon Safari, Temple visit, or Camping jungle trip)- access to beach activities such as volleyball, beach football, sip & paint, DJ competitions, open mic nights, beach clean-ups- beach parties and outdoor movie nights- full access to swimming pool and communal areas.
Is there Wi-Fi at the surf camp?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
Are vegetarian or vegan meals available?
Yes, we can accommodate various dietary requirements. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions when booking, and we’ll ensure your breakfast needs are met.
Is food included?
Daily breakfast is included with all programs for the entire duration of your stay. Dinner is available as an optional upgrade. The accommodation is located on the main strip with many restaurants within walking distance.
What is your accommodation like?
Our Surf House is modern, stylish accommodation that’s just two years old and only a 30-second walk from the beach. Features include spacious rooms (2-6 person options) with air conditioning and private en-suites- brand new swimming pool- two yoga studios (shalas)- on-site bar serving drinks and smoothies- communal chill areas and social spaces- free Wi-Fi throughout the property- secure lockers and daily housekeeping- private balconies with select rooms.

We offer several accommodation options- 6-person shared rooms, 4-person shared rooms, 2-person shared rooms, and private rooms. All rooms have air conditioning and private en-suite bathrooms.
When do your programs run?
Our 2026 programs run from April to July, with multiple start dates available throughout this period. Check our website for specific start dates for each program.
How do I book?
You can book through our website or contact us directly. We offer two payment options- pay a 20% deposit to secure your spot or pay in full upfront. We aim to reply to all bookings within 24 hours.

Are your instructors qualified?
Absolutely! Our instructors hold ISA (International Surfing Association) certifications and are local legends of the waves with extensive knowledge of the area’s surf conditions.
Do you provide surf equipment?
Yes! All surf equipment is included: surfboards, leashes, and fins. We provide boards suitable for your level, from soft boards for beginners to fiberglass boards for intermediate and advanced surfers. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer. You’ll also receive a high quality rash vest for the duration of your camp.
Do I need any surfing experience to join?
Not at all! We welcome all levels from complete beginners to advanced surfers. Our instructors tailor lessons to match your skill level and goals. Whether you’re a total beginner or already catching green waves, we have the right program for you.
How many hours of surf lessons do I get?
This depends on your chosen program:
Surf Essential:10 hours per week (2 hours day, Mon-Fri)
Surf Intense: 20 hours per week (2 sessions day, Mon-Fri)
Surf & Yoga: No surfing is included, but you can book onto lessons as and when you like
Surf Guiding: 15 Hours per week (3 hours day, Mon-Fri)

What’s the best time of year to surf in Arugam Bay?
The best time to surf in Arugam Bay is from April to October. During these months, the east coast monsoon season brings consistent swells and offshore winds, creating ideal conditions for surfing. Arugam Bay’s main point break comes alive, offering long, clean right-handers perfect for both intermediate and advanced surfers. However from July – September, line ups can become crowded and the town in general is very busy.
What surf spots do you use?
We primarily surf at Arugam Bay’s famous right-hand point break, but we also take groups to other nearby surf spots depending on conditions and skill level. Transport to different surf spots is included when needed.

We’re based in Arugam Bay, on the east coast of Sri Lanka. Our Surf House accommodation is just a 30-second walk from the beach, right in the heart of Arugam Bay.
What is Breakers Surf Academy?
Breakers Surf Academy is a surf school located in Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka, offering surf camps and instructor courses. We provide world-class surf instruction with experienced local coaches in a fun, supportive environment where good times and new friends become one.
How crowded does it get?
Arugam Bay can get crowded, especially during peak season (July-September), so expect to share waves with many other surfers. For less crowded conditions, consider visiting during shoulder months (April, May, June, October). This is one of the main reasons, we only run our camps and courses in April, May, June and part of July, so that you get the best conditions, without the crowd.
What surf skill level is required?
Arugam Bay is best suited for all levels. Main Point requires moderate to advanced skills due to its power and crowded conditions. However, there are also mellower spots like Pottuvil Point that cater to intermediate surfers and longboarders, Peanut farm & Elephant rock for beginner to advanced, and Baby point for beginners to intermediate. There are multiple other spots that are suitable for all levels, depending on the conditions each day.
What are the wave conditions like?
Arugam Bay is famous for its long right-hand point breaks that can offer rides of 200-500 meters. The waves typically range from 2-6 feet (0.6-1.8 meters) and work best with southeast swells. The main break, called Main Point, offers the most powerful waves in the area with 4-10 feet waves on good days.
When is the best time to surf in Arugam Bay?
The prime surf season runs from April to October. During these months, the southwest monsoon brings strong, consistent swells to the east coast, creating optimal surfing conditions.
